About us
Our commitment to female wellbeing

We organise workshops, speaker panels, radio shows, and community events that celebrate South Asian culture, promote mental health awareness, and bring people together to learn, connect, and share their stories.

Meet Our Founder
Sheetal Jethwa is the founder of South Asian Voices Bristol CIC, a community organisation created to help amplify South Asian voices, stories and experiences across Bristol.
Passionate about community connection, culture and representation, Sheetal started South Asian Voices Bristol CIC to create more inclusive spaces where people feel heard, seen and able to share their experiences openly. Her work focuses on bringing communities together through conversation, storytelling, community radio, cultural projects and creative engagement.

Over the past few years, Sheetal has been involved in a range of community-led projects across Bristol, working closely with local organisations, residents and grassroots groups to encourage connection, confidence and representation for underrepresented communities.
Through projects including community radio collaborations, South Asian Heritage Month programming and cultural storytelling initiatives, her aim is to create meaningful conversations and celebrate the richness and diversity of South Asian communities in Bristol.
Known for her warm and people-focused approach, Sheetal is passionate about creating projects that feel accessible, honest and rooted in real community experiences.
Inspire
We aim to inspire pride, confidence, and unity within the South Asian community by showcasing the richness of our shared heritage.
Through storytelling, creative projects, and community events, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of South Asians in Bristol and beyond — helping individuals, especially younger generations, feel empowered by their identity and culture.
Educate
Education lies at the heart of our mission. We organise workshops, talks, and radio shows that explore both cultural understanding and mental health awareness.
By opening up conversations around wellbeing and identity, we help break down stigmas, encourage learning across generations, and create opportunities for personal and community growth.
Promote
We are dedicated to promoting South Asian culture and representation across Bristol and beyond. Our community events and collaborations raise visibility for South Asian voices in arts, business, and public life.
As one of the few groups of its kind in the city, our CIC plays a vital role in bringing together all South Asian cultural communities, filling a gap and strengthening the region’s cultural landscape.
Our Mission:

Largest radio takeover on World Menopause Day
Our recent Marketing Campaign has been a real success, bringing together South Asian communities to connect, share experiences, and support one another. South Asian Voices focused each event on community, women’s health, and wellbeing, creating space for open conversation and genuine connection. These projects have been an important step in amplifying South Asian voices in Bristol and building a stronger, more visible community. Absolutely loved being part of this crucial project.

As a photographer who actively seeks out issues ignored by mainstream media it was a delight to work on this awareness campaign. When anyone feels they have no voice, that no one is listening it’s so easy to say unheard. This campaign will save lives in this community and we will all be the richer for that. The way the final radio programme was structured opened the floor, and many spoke, and if one person hearing that gets support or just knows they are not alone a great service has been provided

We were asked to be involved in Sheetal's event raising awareness about menopause and mental health. It was lovely to see the safe space Sheetal created in bringing the ladies together to speak openly and freely about what they are going through. She brought in a doctor as a speaker which was so insightful and helpful to all those that attended. This event was such a great way of raising awareness for mental health and showcasing there is no stigma associated with it and should be something we can speak about without fear of judgement.
